To end global warming, we need to embrace global healing.
To embrace global healing, we need to live simply. Through simplicity, we can each find some time to focus on what we can uniquely bring to the world--and, through simplicity, there can be enough resources for the earth and all its creatures to exist in harmony and balance.

This song was sung in community for the first time on October 16, 2006 at a gathering of Climate Change Action Now, a group that is part of the Phinney EcoVillage. Ed Aites, my husband, did an informal video of most of the singing. The small digital camera only allowed for three minutes but that was actually enough to get almost all the way to the end of the singing. This recording does include a full rendition of the song. For anyone who would like to play guitar with this recording, use G, D, C and occasional Em chords, with the capo at the fifth fret (it's in the key of C). A more formal recording is in the works and will make clearer how the final singing of the line "now is the time" is sung. Meanwhile, be creative; make it an exclamation!
blessings to all, Lorna Carolyn Aites

Keep It Simple

Keep it simple
Keep it lean
Live heart and soul
A life serene
The simple gifts
We sang of yore
Are needed now so much more

Keep it simple
Keep it green
Let’s live our lives
As though we mean
To give each creature
Its full chance
To bring its gift
And join the dance

Now is the time
To cool Mother Earth
Warm hearts must join together
To bring this rebirth
Now is the time
To cool Mother Earth
Warm hearts must join together
To bring this rebirth
Repeat entire song and end with: Now is the Time!!!
